About
Undertaken in partnership by the Energy Saving Trust and ClimateNE, this Green Barometer is a first for North East England.
It is an in-depth market research report on public attitudes towards climate change and its impact on our lifestyle. This gives us an opportunity to understanding what the North East population thinks about the environment, with a breakdown of results by each council area.
It is a robust survey of 1,468 adults aged 18+ across North East England. A representative quota (‘random location') sample was interviewed across 76 Output Areas, with quotas set by age, gender and work status.
The sample is structured to ensure 100 interviews in each local authority with boosters in:
- Middlesbrough (extra 35 interviews)
- Redcar & Cleveland (extra 33 interviews)
- Stockton-on-Tees (extra 52 interviews)
Fieldwork undertaken between 4 March and 2 April 2010 and data is weighted to reflect each local authority.
The questions are available to download here.
The findings were launched on 21 July 2010. Browse the menu on the left-hand side for the detailed findings and press material.
